The one thing I really like doing in the Eastern Sierra is getting up early and hiking to a lake to see the sunrise. Nothing can beat the feeling of the landscape opening up with dawns early light.
Below is a photo I took after hiking to Middle Gaylor Lake one morning. It was pretty much still dark when I started the hike, so I used a headlamp to get over the pass to the lake. I did the hike the second day I was up in Yosemite. The lake is at an elevation of just above 10,000 feet. Talk about a lung buster of a hike! But, as you can see, the hike was well worth it. 🙂
Have a great week everyone!
