For 2018, I’ll be taking two trips, but there could be a third.
The first trip will be in June. Of course it’s Yosemite! I need to do my annual trip there. I’ll be staying in Mammoth and then commuting up to the high country to hike and take more photos. Last year was almost a 200% snow year, so Tioga Pass was closed and all the trails in Mammoth were covered in snow. The picture below was taken on June 3, 2017. Can you believe there were that many people still skiing? That ski area is usually dirt by the end of May.
My second trip is kind of an adventurous one for September. I’ll be going to Glacier National Park (YAY!), Yellowstone, and the Grand Tetons. My reservations for Glacier are consistently changing due to where I want to take photos. Looks like the east end of the park has the most unique photo opportunities, so I may spend more time around there. Reservations for Yellowstone and Tetons are pending. I know I’ll be spending time in the north and west ends of the park. Looking forward to some amazing trails and great photo ops.
I was planning on going back to Lassen in August, but due to time and financial situations, that may have to be postponed. I really want to hike the cinder cone and see the painted dunes, but there is time for that next year…
Have a great week everyone!
