Death Valley And Sunset In Yosemite

The last leg of my Fall trip in 2018, I decided to take a detour and go to Death Valley. This part of the trip was not planned and very impromptu.

The temperature in the park was between 102 and 105 degrees Fahrenheit. I have to say that I’m not a “heat” person, so I didn’t stay out of the air conditioned car very long. I think I spent about 15 min at Zabriskie Point and had enough of the high temperature. I also spent some time at the visitor’s center (covered parking spot was great, as well as the air conditioned rooms!) I’ll revisit Death Valley one day, but most likely in the winter. On this trip I was there on September 18th.

Below are a few photos I took at Zabriskie Point.

As I was heading out of Death Valley, the road intersected with HWY 395. I stopped and thought for a minute and decided to take in an evening at Tuolumne Meadows in Yosemite. I know…a little psychotic to do, but I was at Lone Pine and the park wasn’t that far away, so it was worth it. On the way I stopped in Bishop and bought a sandwich and snack to take with me up to the meadow. Below is an evening photo I took at the meadow. It’s always nice to end a day up there. 🙂

Have a great week everyone!
