Crazy Winter Weather

Southern California has been hit with some really unusual weather lately. We don’t typically get rain, but this winter season has seen a lot of rain! I don’t think it’s rained this much in twenty some odd years where I live. There is also a really strong cold front moving through each day. Some mornings it’s been 35 degrees Fahrenheit. Typically it doesn’t drop below fifty this time of year.

With this kind of wild weather comes some really great things too. I walked out of work one evening and there it was in the sky: a rainbow. I don’t think I’ve seen one in the area in a number of years. Below is one of the photos I took of the rainbow.

As far as trips go for me this year, I will be visiting my sister in Tennessee very soon. She lives within 20 minutes of the Great Smokey Mountains, so that’s where I’ll be heading for my next photography outing. I have also made reservations for my fall trip which includes the Grand Canyon and Yosemite. I’m going to see if I can work in another trip, but no guarantees on that. I’d like to return to Death Valley before spring, but I doubt it will happen. I’m scouting out more areas in the meantime.

Have a great week everyone!
