Half Dome From Washburn Point

Continuing with images from my past is one of my favorites. It was taken at Washburn Point, which is right up the road from Glacier Point in Yosemite.

The image was taken in October of 2010 and the weather system that came through that week was really great! It created a lot of interesting cloud formations.

The rock in the center of the image is Half Dome, believe it or not. From Washburn Point you get a really amazing side angle of the dome. With the clouds surrounding it, I’ve always thought this was one of my better images of Half Dome.

Also, if you are familiar with Yosemite and look closely, hugging the right side of Half Dome is another iconic formation: Clouds Rest.

Have a great week everyone!
