Ackerson Meadow Restoration

Back in 2016, the National Park Service was gifted an amazing thing. A small number of people had purchased a meadow on the northwest side of Yosemite and donated it to the National Park Service, which in turn became part of Yosemite National Park. Ackerson Meadow is that majestic meadow.

In fall of 2021, the meadow will begin a multi-year restoration project which has the intent to restore the meadow to its original wetland state. To read more about this project and to view the restoration project video presentation, please click on the links below:

Ackerson Meadow Public Webinar Recording – August 5, 2020

Below are two images I took of Ackerson Meadow in October 2016, right after it was gifted to the National Park Service. This meadow is considered to be the largest mid elevation meadow in Yosemite.

Have a great week everyone!
