Currently the Dixie Fire in Northern California is close to becoming the largest fire in California’s history.
Near the fire is my second favorite national park: Lassen Volcanic National Park.
Back in 2018, I was in Lassen Volcanic in the month of August. There was a fire very close to it around Red Bluff and Redding. The smoke definitely made the trip a little difficult at times, but for the most part I had a great time.
One of the best hikes I did on that trip was to the new overlook at Kings Creek Falls. Talk about a great hike! It’s simple, but well worth it for the view! Below is an image of a cascade before the falls along Kings Creek. It was so peaceful because it was really early in the morning and I was the only one at the falls for a couple hours. You know that made me happy! 🙂
Thank you to all the fire women and men and first responders for the great work at battling the blazes around the world.
We have to do something about climate change! Climate change is inevitable, but the human race has moved it along at too fast of a pace. Let’s work together and slow it down! We have the ability to do it!
Have a great week everyone!
