Fire management in Yosemite is extraordinarily important. Without it, the park would have already been completely obliterated by fires over the years.
Fortunately the National Park Service has men and women who work in Yosemite to make sure that a large fire is less probable by evaluating dead foliage and creating prescribed fires. Below are some images I took of prescribed fires in Yosemite Valley during my last trip in October. Thank you to all the men and women who work hard at this task.
