Late last week I spent an early morning and sunrise at Ventura Harbor and watched the HR Morris do some sand dredging. Below are some images of the HR Morris from that morning. You can see in the last image the HR Morris in the distance on the left and the sand it was dredging flying out of a pipe on the right. The sand is black because of it being so far down under water and having no oxygen. The sand will turn to typical light sand color as it is exposed to more oxygen over time.
The reason for the dredging? Basically it is done for marine vessels to have safe navigation through the harbor.
Have a great week everyone!
