On my trip to Death Valley earlier this month, I took a nice walk along the Badwater Basin. This is a definite stop for anyone who visits Death Valley. It’s also the lowest elevation in North America at 282 ft. below sea level.
Below are some images I took while there. The first image was taken from Dante’s View, which is high above the basin at 5,575 feet above sea level. See all the people walking around the white salt flat area?
The second image was taken at the basin level. You can see people in the distance left of center.
The fourth image is of the salt in the basin up close. Definitely a geologists dream place!
The last image is of a walk across the basin back to the parking area.
There is a possibility my Pacific Northwest trip in the fall is going to change significantly. Depending on a number of things, it may be better to just hit a few national parks and not as many as originally planned. Will know more in May, but it will still be a great trip! 🙂
Have a great week everyone!
