Lone Pine And The Eastern Sierra

On my way out of Death Valley in March, I decided to take the longer way home and go up to the city of Lone Pine along HWY 395. This gave me good options for lunch and I was able to see the Eastern Sierra after a small snow storm went through a couple of days before.

Mount Whitney and the surrounding peaks had a pretty good dusting of snow on them!

After grabbing something to eat in the city, I drove over to the southern edge of town and went to the visitors center and took a few photos of the Eastern Sierra mountain range. Below is one of the images I took with my new super telephoto. Definitely worth a drive to the area!

Going to Yosemite very soon to get away from the city! Need to recharge and I’m not sure if I’m going to get up to the park in the fall since my road trip up to the Pacific Northwest is going to be so extensive. Probably a good thing I’m not going to Yosemite in the fall because Glacier Point Road will be closed the whole year due to rehabilitation projects within the park. Looking forward to my fall trip and seeing Glacier Point next year after they make some changes to the road and parking areas.

Have a great week everyone!
