My first full day at the Redwoods was all about getting accustomed to the area. I had never been there before, but I heard that the Lady Bird Johnson Grove was one of the best places in the parks, so I started there.
As you can see, in the first photo below, that Friday there was no fog in the grove. Most photographers look for two things when they go to the Redwoods: Fog and Rhododendrons. Well, Rhododendrons were not there because they usually bloom around late May and early June. So for me, it was all about trying to get the fog. My first attempt was met with disappointment. However, I went back on Sunday morning and was very happy and surprised! The third image was taken on that Sunday, where there was plenty of fog! I have to say my images turned out much better with the fog!
My Crater Lake and Lava Beds National Monument galleries are now updated with images! Please check them out. I still have some left to process and prepare for the site, including some astrophotography from Lassen Volcanic and Crater Lake!
Have a great week everyone!
