World Photography Day

Yesterday, Saturday August 20, 2023, was World Photography Day. I didn’t post a message yesterday for it, so this is the post for that day.

Below is an image I took in the Yosemite high country recently. Yes, I made it up there! The image was taken during an early morning hike behind Pothole Dome in Tuolumne Meadows. Wouldn’t you know that I pulled a muscle in my upper right leg/lower back area during the hike. It’s still hurting, but I’m taking care of it and am on the mend. Hopefully the pain will be gone soon. However, the trip to Yosemite and Mammoth was AMAZING! It wasn’t too busy in Yosemite which made it even better! Oh, and I saw two bear cubs crossing Tioga Pass and a HUGE bear in Mammoth Lakes!

Looking forward to hitting the road in September for the Rockies and other parks. I’m still preparing for the trip as there is still a lot to do. I did make the decision to pack really light to make the traveling more enjoyable. The recent trip to Yosemite kind of made me make that decision as it was a light packed trip.

Hope everyone is staying safe during the stormy weekend in California. There is a tail end of a hurricane from Mexico that is hitting the state pretty hard, but so far it’s only been light rain in Ventura County. Oh, and there was a 5.1 earthquake today! It didn’t really bother me. Trust me, after living approximately three miles from the epicenter of the Northridge Quake of 1994 and living through that quake, nothing rattles me too much anymore. 🙂

Have a great week everyone!
