One thing that is really noticeable when up in the high country of Yosemite in spring and early summer is the abundance of wildflowers. I had never noticed it before when visiting Quaking Aspen Falls, but there is a bush that flowers next to the falls. Below is an image of the beautiful white flowers. It’s also nice to see the pink wildflowers between the granite features along Tioga Pass. I didn’t take pictures of it on this last trip, but did in the past. I’ll see if I can dig up an image and post it.
My first fall trip this year is to Crater Lake and Lassen Volcanic National Park. Unfortunately there are large fires not far from both locations as I write this. The one close to Lassen Volcanic is called the Park Fire and apparently was started by a reckless human being. I don’t want to give too many details about it until I know more, but it really sounds insane how it started. Hopefully I will be able to visit both locations this fall without any issues…but at this point it’s a waiting game. Keeping the faith…
Have a great week everyone!
