Search And Rescue Excitement In Yosemite

My first morning in Yosemite on May 31st was really active. In the first few hours I had already done about 16,000 steps for the day according to my watch and had seen a great number of incredible views. Below is one of the first images of Yosemite Falls I caught while taking my first loop drive around the valley floor.

While parked next to Ahwahnee Meadows around 10am, I heard a really low thumping echoing through Yosemite Valley. The thumping became louder and I looked up and saw a helicopter flying next to one of the granite walls of the valley. Next thing I knew the helicopter landed in the meadows in front of me! Looks like search and rescue was doing training for some employees for the upcoming summer season. Below is an image of the helicopter and the team of people taking the training.

Have a great week everyone!
