I’ve been busy this weekend creating a portfolio of stock images. The portfolio is for a stock photography company I plan on submitting an application to so I can contribute to their site. This specific stock site is pretty prestigious and their qualifications and guidelines for images are really tough, so here’s hoping for the best. I’m not sure how long it’s going to take me to complete this project, but I’m thinking it won’t be more than a couple of months. With a little work and time, my portfolio will eventually have a good variation of images for different client needs.
Stock photography is great way to help improve your photographic and image processing techniques. It makes you take the time and really pay attention to how you are taking photos. Exposure, white balance, and image sharpness are most important with stock photos, so being aware of these factors is critical. Check out your local bookstore for books regarding stock photography. You can also Google stock photography and get lots of information online.
On a separate note, this week the Getty Center is opening a new exhibit – In Focus: Ansel Adams. The exhibit runs from March 18th to July 20th. The exhibit includes photos from the museum’s permanent collection of Mr. Adams work and will show the different changes in his printing style through the years. I plan on going in the next couple of weeks and possibly checking out the Annenberg Space for Photography again and its exhibit of National Geographic photos. That exhibit runs through April 20th.
Have a great week everyone!
