It’s Beautiful Up Here!

I’m up in Yosemite and Mammoth again. This time I’m in the higher elevation in Yosemite and there is still a lot of snow and ice! Below is a picture of Tioga Lake with ice. Last year at this time there was no ice, so I was really surprised to see it this year.

I’m planning a long hike on Tuesday, but there is a slight obstacle in the way. A creek has had a considerable amount of snow melt and flooded the beginning of the trail. I may have to forge through the creek to do the hike. I was thinking of starting the hike at 4am, but the water may be too cold at that time. I have alternative footwear so I can wade through the water, but since the water may be colder than expected, it’s hard to say what I’m going to do. I watched three guys cross the creek the day I arrived in Yosemite and it was above their knees. I’ll be checking the creek again when I go take more photos tomorrow morning. I’m keeping my finger crossed.

Have a great week everyone!
