I just watched an amazing documentary about a photographer who was never famous while she was alive, but has become one of the most prolific street photographers of our time. Her name: Vivian Maier.
The documentary, “Finding Vivian Maier”, follows photographer/filmmaker John Maloof on his journey to bring Vivian’s amazing talent to the forefront of the art world and to give us a glimpse of the woman behind the camera. The documentary also shows to what lengths Vivian went to hide her talent and how misunderstood a lonely person can be. Shocking, heartbreaking, and redeeming are some words I feel best describe this film. It’s definitely a must see for anyone who loves photography. The documentary is available through iTunes as well as Amazon.
