Sometimes Photos Look Better In Print

After seeing the documentary “Finding Vivian Maier”, I went to a local bookstore and purchased a copy of the photo book, “Vivian Maier: Street Photographer”. Sure, I could have bought a digital .pdf version of the book, but having printed copies of her photos is so much better. Visually, the photos look so much better on paper than backlit on a digital screen.

The book itself has a great collection of some of Vivian’s best work. It’s the first book made with Vivian’s photos and shows how absolutely talented she was with composition and timing. The book can be purchase at local bookstores or through Amazon by clicking on the following link:

Seeing Vivian’s work in printed form has also made me think about my own photography. I haven’t really invested much time in printing my own work. I’ve been looking into buying a printer for fine art photography purposes and may do so sometime this year. I know there’s some trial and error in the beginning of learning how to print, but if I don’t dive in soon, I may stay stuck in the digital world too long.

Have a great week everyone!
