This weekend I decided to go through my Lightroom catalog and do some much needed cleaning. When I first started using Lightroom years ago, I didn’t really have good knowledge of how the software worked. Now I’m slowly cleaning up mistakes and getting more organized with not only my workflow, but my archiving of images. This clean up is probably going to be an on going thing for the next month or so, but I’m happy that it’s going good.
As far as the rest of this weekend went, I wish I had paid more attention to the sky on Saturday evening. I was busy working in Lightroom when I noticed some colorful light coming through the window blinds. I went over to the window and the sky at sunset was absolutely amazing! The reds, oranges, pinks and purples that filled the sky were a photographers dream come true. Wouldn’t you know that I wasn’t prepared and couldn’t get to the beach in time to take a photo. Oh well, maybe next time.
On another note, I’ve posted a new picture below from my last trip to Yosemite and Mammoth. It’s of a small lake in the higher elevation called Hidden Lake. There’s no trail to it, so you need to use a topography map and compass to make your way to it. While that sounds difficult, it actually was a very simple hike and definitely worth the adventure. Just beyond the trees, at the far side of the lake, is a great view of the back side of Half Dome. It’s about a mile closer than Olmstead Point and you don’t have a ton of tourists getting in the way. If you want to get away from it all for a short period of time without the fear of getting lost or completely out of touch with civilization, this is definitely the hike for you.
Have a great week everyone!
