It’s that time again; I’m planning another trip to Mammoth and Yosemite. This time it will be right after Tioga Pass (hwy 120) re-opens. I’ll be staying in Mammoth and driving into the East entrance of Yosemite. My plan is to take a number of photos in Tuolumne Meadows and around Mono Lake. Yep, that means getting up before sunrise and sticking around after sunset. I’m guessing I’ll need a lot of mosquito repellant while in T.M. because it’s so marshy this time of year. A second trip to Yosemite may be in the future this year, but on that trip I’ll be focusing more on the other parts of the park.
As for next year, I’ve been thinking of traveling up to Mt. Rainier and Mt. St. Helens. If that doesn’t work out, Eureka and the Redwoods in Northern California is the alternative. I’m trying to figure out what time of the year to go, so I’ve already started to research the areas.
On a side note (not related to photography), the Eurovision Song Competition is coming up in a few weeks. The city of Malmö, Sweden is hosting it since singer Loreen won the competition last year. I wanted to go see the final, but it was too expensive to stay in Sweden or Denmark. So, who is going to win??? My “Douze Points” are on Margaret Berger of Norway. I think Roberto Bellarosa from Belgium has a good song, but it doesn’t sound good when he sings it live. Then again, it could be anybody. The Europeans always surprise me with who they vote for.
