Amazônia

I was surprised and happy to find that the Annenberg Space for Photography website was still up! The museum in Century City closed, but it was great to see the website and find new information.

The Annenberg Foundation and the California Science Center have joined together to present a new photographic exhibit at the California Science Center: Amazônia.

The exhibit features 200 photos by Brazilian photojournalist Sebastião Salgado. If you haven’t heard of him or seen his work, you really need to Google his name and see the images he’s created over the years; his work is remarkable!

Also, if you get a chance and live in or near the Los Angeles area, definitely go see the exhibit. I’m planning to see it sometime in January. For more info regarding the exhibit, click on the two following links:

Lastly, below are two images I took on my trip in October to Lassen Volcanic National Park. I got an early start that morning and was going to do the Kings Creek Falls trail at sunrise. I arrived in the north end of the park that morning and it was still dark…and the stars looked amazing! I wish I had known how clear the sky and stars were going to be as I would have planned for a night of astrophotography. Can you guess what the lit building in the foreground is? It’s the men’s and women’s restroom next to the Loomis Visitor Center. Nice that it was lit…I needed to use the facilities… 🙂

Have a great week everyone!
