The Annenberg And Ocean Sunset Video

It’s the 4th of July here in the United States and I was thinking of going out and taking some photos of fireworks. Unfortunately I couldn’t come up with a game plan fast enough on where to go and I think there are going to be too many people to maneuver around throughout the city. With that in mind, I’ll be waiting about a month before taking firework photos. Some people are probably wondering, “Wait…what? That’s August! Why would there be fireworks in August?” Well, as it turns out, the Ventura County Fair will be here from August 5th through the 16th and they have fireworks every night! That gives me multiple opportunities to take photos. I’ll be checking out various areas along the coast to see where would be the best vantage point.

A few weeks ago, I went to the Annenberg Space for Photography and saw the new exhibit: Emerging. The exhibit showcases the works of more than 90 emerging photographers from around the world and how their unique photographic skills bring a fresh new look to professional photography. Some of the photographers are really young, but it was nice to see some who are a little older. Once again, Patricia Lanza and Wallis Annenberg have put together an incredible exhibit worth your time. The exhibit runs through September 20, 2015. If you live in the California area or will be out here on vacation, please take the time to check it out. You can see more information regarding the exhibit by clicking on the following link:

Since I’ve upgraded to Lightroom 6, I’ve been busy re-organizing my photography catalog. I’ve also checked out some features in Lightroom I previously hadn’t taken the time to look over. One thing that has been fun is post processing videos. You can’t process videos in the develop module, but there are various options in the library module, which include tone control, exposure, and contrast. Below is one video I’ve finally had the time to process. It was taken at the end of 2014 in Ventura Harbor. I’m still learning various techniques for making videos and want to devote more time to it. Hopefully during my fall trip I’ll be able to do some more video work.

Have a great week everyone!
