I didn’t want to come back from this trip!!! It was so beautiful up in Lassen Volcanic National Park and Yosemite!!!
I didn’t see much fall foliage up in Lassen. It may have peaked, but I did see some awesome color in Yosemite along the Big Oak Flat Road and hwy 41 between Turtleback Dome and Chinquapin. The first photo below is of aspens in the forest just west of the west entrance in Yosemite along hwy 120. I was definitely in the autumn spirit when I saw this! I also made a trip over to the Eastern Sierra, but all the color around June Lake had peaked and had been gone for a while. It’s always good to check though; you never know.
The second photo was taken around Glacier Point. You can see Vernal and Nevada Falls in the lower right corner pretty well. They seemed to have come to life a little after the storm went through the park while I was there.
The next photo is of Lassen Peak, taken from Hat Creek Rim Scenic Viewpoint. I’m happy I made it up there that day because they take winter really seriously up in Northern California…which meant that the next day this scenic viewpoint was closed! Yes, closed and so were the lava tube caves which I didn’t get a chance to see! Oh well, next time.
Last photo is of the National Park Service emblem on the Kohm Yah-mah-nee Visitor Center in Lassen Volcanic National Park. Much credit goes to the National Park Service for allowing us all to have such great experiences in these beautiful parks. Thank you!!!
More pictures are on the way and I’ll update my galleries and front page slideshow soon.
Have a great week everyone!
