California Science Center

I spent Saturday with my sister and niece at the California Science Center in downtown Los Angeles. I was happy to be in an air conditioned building the whole day because Southern California had a very hot weekend. It was about 112 degrees as we drove through the northern half of the San Fernando Valley! I was beginning to think we were in Death Valley.

We saw lots of great things at the science center, including the Space Shuttle Endeavour. I’ve posted a few pictures from the exhibit, including a model of what they are planning to do with the shuttle for future exhibition. They want to have it standing in launch position with the twin rocket boosters and the external fuel tank. Sounds like a really big undertaking!

I’ve also posted some photos of the reef exhibit. The jelly fish and large aquarium were really popular that day.

I was actually lucky to post any photos on the blog because my portable hard drive, which has my Lightroom catalog photos, crashed! I’ve never had that happen before. Luckily I had backed everything up previously on other drives. I was also fortunate to get the drive back up and running. It was a long process, but I’m happy it started working again.

Have a great week everyone!
