Driving down the Big Oak Flat Road in Yosemite, heading toward Yosemite Valley, there are a number of turnouts with bridges where you can see some really amazing cascades of water. Below is an image of one of them. I don’t remember the weather patterns of that day in October of 2016, but as you can see there is a ton of water coming down the hillside. Since it was so late in the year, there must have been a pretty heavy rain storm that came through the park at that time. Usually the cascades and falls are dry in October.
I’ve had to make an adjustment to my fall trip. Looks like I’m only going to Yosemite this year. Lassen Volcanic, Great Basin, Bryce and Zion will have to wait. I’m doing this for health precautions. Unfortunately with Covid-19 still going strong, I’m going to have to make the change.
Have a great week everyone!
