Every year I create a holiday card with one of my favorite landscape photos taken that year.
Last year, while on vacation in Yosemite and the Eastern Sierra, I didn’t take an image I felt really worked for a card. I really wanted an image with snow in it and in October there was no snow in the area.
With that in mind, I kept checking the weather forecast in Yosemite for snow. Sure enough, in November, the first signs of snow were showing. So, what do you think I did? Yup, you guessed it, I made a quick one day trip to Yosemite right after one of the first snow falls of the winter season.
Below are two images I took while there that day. The first one is of the Merced River bend near the Pohono Bridge in Yosemite Valley. The second is the image I chose for my holiday cards; It’s North Dome with Royal Arches and Half Dome taken from Stoneman Meadow. And yes, the trip was well worth it!
Have a great week everyone!
