National Parks always have such great history behind them…
While in Death Valley in February, I came to a site that once had a large borax refinery. Below are two images I took at the old refinery location. The first image is the plaque describing how a twenty mule team would help transport the borax to destinations outside of Death Valley. The second image is of the wagon the mules would tow, which when fully loaded could weigh as much as 36 tons.
