Early Morning At The Harbor

I spent one early morning this last week at Ventura Harbor. It’s always nice to go there and walk around the beach to start the day.

Below are some images I took that morning. I liked the way seaweed raked across the sand and created a kind of sand sculpture on the beach in image four.

Regarding last weeks post, I’ve included in this post an image of a plaque with the bio of artist BiJian. He’s the one who did the origami sculptures that are currently in the garden at the Channel Islands National Park Visitors Center.

If you were wondering about the elephant sculpture in last weeks post, no, there aren’t elephants on any of the Channel Islands. The sculpture was to bring attention to the fact that there were pygmy mammoths on the islands centuries ago. Fossils of the pygmy mammoths were found on Santa Rosa Island in 1994. Just a little history lesson for you all this week. 🙂

Have a great week everyone!
