I’ve began confirming my plans for my trip in the fall. So far I’ve decided to spend a few days up the California Coastline near Eureka and photograph the redwood trees and the ocean. The second half of the trip will be (as if this is a surprise) around the south end of Yosemite. It’ll be interesting up near Eureka because I’m not sure what to expect in terms of weather or landscape, but I’m sure it will be amazing.
Below are a few more photos from my recent trip. The first photo is of the columnar basalt of Devils Postpile. Just like Yosemite, I never grow tired of seeing this area. It always looks new and different each time. Moss growing randomly along the length of the columns made a really nice contrast in this photo.
The second photo is of the top of the columns. The interlocking pattern made a great monochromatic image.
The third photo shows a cluster of small white flowers that were growing between the top of the columns. Strange how life finds a way of growing in the most unusual places.
My website has had some small modifications and I’ve updated my Eastern Sierra Nevada and Yosemite galleries in the Landscape section. The last rows of photos in each gallery are from my most recent trip. Check them out when you have a chance. I’ll be adding more photos soon.
Have a great week everyone!
