Below are two images I took while hiking the Grand Wash in Capitol Reef National Park in September last year. I’m happy I did the hike early because on the return trip to the car it started to warm up and there wasn’t as much shade like the hike had at the beginning.
The same evening after the hike, when I arrived at Bryce Canyon Lodge, I didn’t realize until I got out of the car how much red dust I had all over my pants and boots from the Grand Wash hike! I must have been pretty interesting looking when I walked into the lobby of the lodge. 🙂
Well, my Yosemite trip this weekend was rescheduled. Tioga Pass isn’t open yet, so hopefully I pushed the trip out far enough so it will be open when I go. It wasn’t a particularly heavy snow year this last winter so I’m not sure what the delay is. The website for Yosemite says they’re in phase 2 of three phases to opening the road. Must be more snow and ice than I anticipated…
Have a great week everyone!
