One of the best features in Yosemite is the granite. The granite domes, cliffs and the sometimes unique stacked formations make the park such an amazing place.
Below are two photos I took on the last day of my trip up to Yosemite in June along Tioga Pass. The first is of stacked granite. While you can’t really see it, there is some plant life between the pieces of granite. The second photo I took was around the same area and shows wild flowers blooming between the granite. Wish I had more time while up there to explore other granite areas…but that’s what return trips are for, right?! 🙂
Getting ready to head up to Lassen Volcanic National Park in the next few weeks. It’s going to be hot up there. Triple digits up around Red Bluff and Redding, but it’ll be in the high 80s where I’m staying and in the upper 70s where I’ll be hiking. While Bumpass Hell (the largest geothermal area of the park) is closed until December, there is still a ton of hiking and exploring to do!
Have a great week everyone!
