I’ve been back from Mammoth and Yosemite for about a week. I had a great time doing some new hikes and taking photos. I can’t say it was the best “photographic” trip I’ve taken, but I did get some good shots.
The first day I spent partially at Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. I had arrived at Moro Rock in Sequoia National Park at 5:15am and hiked to the top. Below is a photo of the granite stairs going up the rock with the moon at the top of the railing. I stayed in the area for a short time because the best view was westerly facing, so a sunset would have made a better image. With the sunrise occurring in the direction I was taking pictures, the sun would have blown out the images right after it rose. I did get some photos of the snow covered mountains and will see if they are worth posting in the next week. Oh, and there were no clouds in the sky, so no sky detail, which made for kind of bland images.
My next stop in Sequoia National Park was at Crescent Meadow. What surprised me as I was taking the road to the meadow was that dogwoods were in bloom! I thought they had already peaked for the year, so that was a surprise. Below is a sequoia tree surrounded by other trees, including the white flowers from the dogwood trees.
More images are on the way. On a side note, the only day I had clouds in the sky was the last day of my trip! So, with what little time I had, I did some short timelapse videos. You can check out those timelapse videos at the following link:
Have a great week everyone!
