I’ve hiked all over the east end of Yosemite Valley over the years, but haven’t really taken the time to do the west end. With that in mind, I decided to do the west end of the Valley Loop trail during my last visit to Yosemite.
Below is an image I took during the morning hike. Control burns in the valley created a kind of fog effect in the forest which made for interesting photography. I felt like I was on a medieval fantasy/adventure movie set location.
During the hike I came across a bear, which of course I scared and it ran away. I’ve never seen a bear move so quickly through a forest. However, the bear was not alone! I heard some rustling to my left and scampering down a tree was a bear cub! I backed down the trail some to give the little guy room to catch up with mom. Unfortunately I wasn’t quick enough to get a photo of them. I could hardly see the mother and the cub was so quick. One day I’ll get a picture…
Have a great week everyone!
