Considered to be one of the top ten photographers of all time, Jerry Uelsmann created a photographic world that was years ahead of the Photoshop generation. Over the last four decades, his composite photographs, made up of multiple film negatives, have been displayed throughout the world in more than 100 exhibitions.
While enjoying the Digital Age and all the amazing images it can produce, Mr. Uelsmann still creates his images using analog technology, specifically using film negatives in the darkroom. “I am sympathetic to the current digital revolution and excited by the visual options created by the computer. However, I feel my creative process remains intrinsically linked to the alchemy of the darkroom.” – quote taken from Shutterbug: Master Interview; Jerry Uelsmann
