In The Foreground: Leonard Nimoy

It was sad hearing that Leonard Nimoy passed away on February 27, 2015. He made such an impact on so many people with his role as Spock in the Star Trek television series and movies. Spock was not only an amazing character for Nimoy, but also became a huge cultural icon throughout the world.

Mr. Nimoy not only acted, but he was also a celebrated director (Star Trek III: The Search for Spock; Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home; Three Men and a Baby), author, and photographer.

Nimoy’s interest in photography started when he was a child and continued throughout his entire life. He studied photography at UCLA and had his work shown at the R. Michaelson Galleries in Massachusetts, The Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art, The L.A. County Museum of Art, The Hammer Museum, and The New Orleans Museum of Fine Art.
