Many Glacier To Logan Pass

After hiking Grinnell Glacier, I spent the next night at the Swiftcurrent Motor Inn. You may be wondering why I didn’t stay at the Many Glacier Hotel another night. The main reason is because of the price. The Swiftcurrent Motor Inn is much more affordable and one night of luxury was enough for me. Also, the Swiftcurrent Motor Inn was right down the road (less than a few miles), so it just made sense. Dinner at the motor inn was also really good!

So, after spending one night at the Swiftcurrent Motor Inn, I woke up and was on the road before sunrise. I arrived at Saint Mary Lake right before the sun rose and lit up the mountains. Unfortunately there weren’t that many clouds in the sky like the morning before at Many Glacier. I took a few pictures I thought were nice and the one below is probably the best one I got.

I then went to Saint Mary’s Falls and took some nice photos. I used a neutral density filter to slow the shutter down. Below is one of the photos I took.

After leaving Saint Mary’s Falls, I headed up to Logan Pass to hike to Hidden Lake. The first photo below is of the hills and boardwalk that lead up to the lake and the next is of the lake and surrounding mountains.

Of course I was lucky enough to run into a mountain goat and get a photo.

By the time I was back at the parking area for the trail, I had to head out of the park and make my way to West Glacier, which is where I spent the next night. Normally it would have been a quick trip down the Going to the Sun road, but the fire on the west end of the park made that impossible. I ended up looping around the park, which took a few hours.

More photos from the trip coming soon to the galleries and my blog.

Have a great week everyone!
