Looking forward to seeing the Redwoods up in Northern California this fall. The trip is going to be a little hectic in terms of timing, but I’m going to make the most of it. Trying to cram so much into one trip is a little bit of a challenge, but I need to get out of town and check out some new photographic opportunities.
I won’t be able to go to the Mariposa Grove in Yosemite this year because the park has closed the area until 2017. The road to the grove is in desperate need of repair and the trails leading through the trees need to be updated and cleaned up. It looks like there is going to be shuttle buses from Yosemite’s south entrance to the grove once it re-opens, so I’m not sure if they’re going to allow cars to drive directly to the trees anymore. Should be interesting to see how that ends up. Sometimes I like going to the grove really early in the morning (before sunrise), so I hope that is still going to be possible. I’ve posted two pictures below from one of my last visits to the grove.
It’s Labor Day weekend here in the United States, so I have Monday off. I’m going to catch up on some reading and much needed sleep. I may go out and do some photography in the evening. I’ve been wanting to work with two new lenses I recently purchases, so some night time shots may work tomorrow.
Have a great week everyone!
