While most people are getting ready for the solar eclipse in the next week, I decided to go through my Lightroom catalog to see if I had any interesting images I haven’t processed.

The image below was taken on October 30, 2010, at a park around the corner from where I grew up. The image didn’t look very good in color. Something about the color was distracting from the overall feel I was trying to create. In black and white, the image took on a much stronger feel. I really like the texture of the leaves on the bushes and the peace and solitude the park bench adds to the image.

I won’t be joining the millions of people taking images of the eclipse this next week. I’m sure the internet is going to be overwhelmed with images from the event. I wish everyone who goes out and attempts to make an image the best of success, but this time around, I’ll be sitting out. 🙂
