I rented a documentary film this weekend that is an absolute must see for everyone. The film is called The Salt of the Earth and can be found on iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, and at your local video stores.
The film follows the life of humanitarian/environmental photographer SebastiĆ£o Salgado and how his photos have captured the true and sometimes heartbreaking results of our ever changing world. Co-directed by SebastiĆ£o’s son, Juliano Ribeiro Salgado, the film takes us to all four corners of the globe and covers events ranging from the famine in Ethiopia in the mid 1980’s to the first Gulf War in Kuwait in the early 1990’s. The film showcases a number of Salgado’s photos, most of which are some of the most exquisite black and white images ever created.
