This last Christmas I treated myself and bought a tilt/shift lens for my camera. There is kind of a learning curve to using one. The biggest challenge for me is the focusing of the composition. While it looks one way in the view finder or on the live view screen on the camera, it always seems to look different when I upload the photo to my computer. What I am noticing is that a little tilt or shift goes a really long way! The other factor to keep in mind is which aperture is being used; that can change the whole focal situation. I am trying to utilize the lens more and more, even though the frustration of the photos not coming out the way I want them to gets in the way. You know what they say: “Practice makes perfect.” It is time to go out and do some more “practicing”.
I just picked up the mail for the day; guess what was there? The new B & H Summer Catalog! Oh the temptation to spend money and buy more lenses and equipment, but I will be good…for now. Check them out online by clicking on the following link and you will see what I mean: www.bhphotovideo.com
