Tracks And An Upcoming Trip

The Annenberg Space for Photography is currently closed for remodeling to get ready for it’s next exhibit, “Sink or Swim: Designing for a Sea Change”. The exhibit will run from December 13, 2014 to May 3, 2015. The new exhibit focuses on peoples responses to the various changes in their landscapes as a result from rising sea levels around the world.

In the meantime, across the park from the Annenberg is their newest building addition, the Skylight Studio. This extension of the Annenberg is used for their lecture series, but also as screening room for various films. A new film called “Inside Tracks: Behind the Lens on the Assignment of a Lifetime” will open on October 3 and runs through February 1st. The film focuses on the true story of an American National Geographic photographer in 1977 who was assigned to document an Australian woman’s 9 month, 1700-mile travel through the Australian Outback. The films release is in conjunction with the major motion picture release, “Tracks”, which is currently being shown in theatres around the world and stars Mia Wasikowska and Adam Driver.

As for me, I’m getting ready for another trip to my favorite National Park to start work on two photo books. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for good photo opportunities and a nice seasonal change. I’m also hoping all the roads will be open, but with an early snow fall this weekend, it’s hard to say if I’ll get to the high country this time around.

Have a great week everyone!
