Yosemite Is Closed

Yosemite National Park closed recently because of a severe storm that blew through California this weekend. The park plans to reopen around March 1st.

I have to say it’s been pretty cold here in Southern California and very wet! I can only imagine how cold it is in Yosemite! Below are two images I took in Yosemite in April 2022. Glacier point road at the time was close not because of snow, but because of the road improvement construction that lasted through 2022. It just happened to have a light dusting of snow when I was up in the park.

I’m slowly continuing making my reservations for my fall trip. What I didn’t realize is that Rocky Mountain National Park will have a daily entry reservation system in place when I go up. It will definitely make daily hiking plans a little more complicated, but I’ll work through it. If I go into the park early enough, I won’t need reservations, so that’s what I plan to do most of the time.

Arches National Park is also implementing daily reservations, so going into that park early is also what I plan to do. I’m an early riser in the morning anyway.

Have a great week everyone!
