Rain On The Way?

Fires are still burning like crazy in California. There is a specific fire, the Glass Fire, in the Sonoma/Napa region of California that is doing a lot of damage. My thoughts and prayers are with those who live in that area and for the fire fighters who are working really hard. I looked at the […]

Tarn Surrounded By A Snow Covered Landscape

I took the following image in the high country of Yosemite on October 19, 2015, right inside the east entrance. I could only wish for snow when I go this year to Yosemite, but it’s been extremely warm in that area and I’m not expecting there to be any cold weather. Global warming effects? It’s […]

Meadow Sunrise

Below is an image I took in Yosemite in October 2015. Sunrise in any meadow in Yosemite can be so amazing! Looking forward to a few of them during my upcoming trip. Have a great week everyone!

Control Burns

Unless you have been living under a rock, you will know that a lot of California is on fire right now. It is awful! One of the fires, up near the Bay Area, is the largest fire California’s history. Below is an image I took in Yosemite in October 2016. The smoke you see in […]

Hot Hot HOT!

It was really hot this weekend. It reminded me of my multi national park trip in 2018 and my last minute side trip to Death Valley. The daytime temperature that day was 105 degrees Fahrenheit. Today the daytime high was around 121 degrees Fahrenheit in Death Valley! Where I live it was closer to 90 […]

Waiting For Fall

I cancelled my reservations for the first part of my fall trip. That was hard to do because I really wanted to go to a lot of places at the end of the year. However, I decided to play it safe and stick with a location that I am really familiar with: Yosemite! So, It […]

Cascade Off The Big Oak Flat Road

Driving down the Big Oak Flat Road in Yosemite, heading toward Yosemite Valley, there are a number of turnouts with bridges where you can see some really amazing cascades of water. Below is an image of one of them. I don’t remember the weather patterns of that day in October of 2016, but as you […]

Ackerson Meadow Restoration

Back in 2016, the National Park Service was gifted an amazing thing. A small number of people had purchased a meadow on the northwest side of Yosemite and donated it to the National Park Service, which in turn became part of Yosemite National Park. Ackerson Meadow is that majestic meadow. In fall of 2021, the […]

Creative Side Of Cameras

The images below were taken in October 2016 at Glacier Point in Yosemite. I thought I’d try one of the many extra features of my camera and see how creative it could be. The camera has different filters and HDR sequences you can use to create a more dramatic image. While I like some of […]

So Red The Rose

Below is an image I took in August 2012. Someone had tied a dozen roses to a tree along PCH. It may have been for romance or possibly a memorial for someone. Either way, it was very beautiful to see.   Have a great week everyone!
